About the Role:

As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will serve as the central point of coordination between clients, design teams, field operations, and subcontractors, driving project execution and financial performance. Your work will directly influence client satisfaction, repeat business, and the overall success of the mechanical construction portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of commercial mechanical construction projects, from preconstruction planning through project closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to meet contractual and financial targets.
• Coordinate daily with owners, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Oversee project financial performance, including cost control, billing, and change order management.
• Review and manage contracts, submittals, RFIs, drawings, and related project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead regular project and coordination meetings, providing clear progress updates and action plans to stakeholders.
• Support procurement efforts by planning material needs, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating deliveries with the field.
• Mentor Project Engineers and junior team members, providing guidance on project processes, technical issues, and best practices.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial mechanical construction projects as a Mechanical Project Manager or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems in commercial environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships on multi-million-dollar projects.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of mechanical construction means and methods, project lifecycle management, and field coordination.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience delivering projects in sectors such as healthcare, commercial office, higher education, industrial/manufacturing, hospitality, mission critical/data centers, or institutional facilities.
• Background working with large general contractors and complex, schedule-driven projects.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and model-based clash detection for mechanical systems.
• Experience with cost tracking, forecasting tools, and project reporting platforms specific to construction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant mechanical construction experience will be considered.
• Professional certifications in project management or construction (such as PMP, CCM, or similar) are advantageous.
• OSHA safety training or certifications relevant to construction environments are preferred.
