Robert Half is partnering with a successful manufacturing company in Milford, CT, to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist . This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, and payment operations. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation
- Respond to vendor inquiries and cultivate positive supplier relationships
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of invoices
- Support inventory and purchasing teams by resolving receiving and invoicing issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Assist with audit requests and provide documentation as needed
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Experience processing high-volume invoices
- Familiarity with purchase orders, three-way matching, and vendor management
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
