Staff Nurse

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university – HIGHLY PREFERRED Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of post anesthesia and/or critical care experience Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Computer knowledge and skills Communicates in a therapeutic and professional manner Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position Job Description The Staff Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate, and document care. Formulates nursing diagnoses for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling, and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s standard of care, and the institution’s mission and goals.
