We provide exceptional customer experiences and create solutions for neighborhoods that positively impact communities by providing unparalleled expertise in real estate, investment, development, construction and management.The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for various development and construction projects that are part of the Milhaus portfolio. They will review, maintain and analyze the general ledger financial statements for assigned projects and their related debt and/or equity partners. They will team closely with development and construction staff, and other internal stakeholders to provide accurate financial reporting packages each month for their assigned projects. They will exhibit strong accounting, analytical and communication skills.Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:Compile and analyze financial information and prepare journal entriesResolve accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesMonitor and ensure the maintenance of accounting control proceduresPrepare monthly financial statement packagesAnalyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide recommendations and implement solutionsParticipate in evaluating, defining, documenting and maintaining accounting processes and proceduresPrepare project cash flow projectionsPartner with Development, Construction, and Finance to provide accurate and timely response to owner or lender requests for financial informationMonitor project cash balances and ensure that required reserves are maintainedEnsure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenue and expenseComplete bank reconciliationsCompile financial data for bank reporting and external auditsOther accounting projects as assignedRequirementsThree to five years of Accounting experience requiredExperience in real estate, development, or construction industry preferredProficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn accounting softwareBachelors Degree in Accounting requiredStrong communication and teaming skills.
