Staff / Senior Accountant

The Cyperus Group is partnering with several prestigious and well-established financial services organizations in the New York metropolitan area that are actively seeking talented Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants to join their growing finance teams.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
- Analyze general ledger activity and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support quarterly and annual audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and business teams across the organization
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and documentation
Qualifications
Staff Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-4 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems
Senior Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience performing month-end close and account reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly desirable
