Program Specialist/Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

The Program Specialist/Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs that enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of diverse client populations. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or a related field.

• Ability to conduct client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, plan, and implement therapeutic recreation programs tailored to meet the needs of clients with varying abilities and conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' recreational interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care and integrate therapeutic recreation into overall treatment strategies.
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting programs as necessary to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
• Provide education and training to staff, clients, and families on therapeutic recreation techniques and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to therapeutic recreation services.
• Manage program resources, including equipment and supplies, to maintain a safe and effective therapeutic environment.
• Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
