Job Summary Associate Patient Service Specialist providing patient service before, during, and after appointments with minimal guidance. Supports efficient workflow, technology utilization, and effective communication. Facilitates complex scheduling, including coordination with outside facilities. Shift Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (no night or weekend shifts) Key Responsibilities Proficiently perform all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities. Schedule appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages. Manage registration and patient work queues. Coordinate with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre‑appointment orders and consults are received and ready prior to the visit. Communicate with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately. Technical Capabilities Customer Service (Intermediate) – Focus on customer needs, anticipate requirements, and remain responsive. Patient Scheduling (Novice) – Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and other office visits using hospital or clinic computer systems. Patient Documentation (Novice) – Receive and record patient information. Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice) – Comprehend medical terminology. Appointment & Procedural Scheduling (Fundamental Awareness) – Coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures within various computer systems. Core Accountabilities Perform routine tasks that may impact team performance with occasional guidance. Utilize discretion and research to solve routine problems. Apply knowledge of standards, established processes, and procedures relevant to the role. Provide guidance to entry‑level co‑workers.
