Senior Accountant

HFM is a growing full-service accounting and advisory firm serving clients throughout Southern New England. We provide our clients with professional, personalized services and guidance in a wide range of financial and business needs. Our goal is to maintain a small firm feel, while still providing big firm opportunities. As a Senior Accountant, you will: Prepare Federal and State tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, businesses, and not-for-profits Deliver accounting and tax services tailored to small businesses and individual clients Plan and support the day-to-day activities of attest engagements including workpaper review and preparing financial reports for clients Collaborate with managers to allocate responsibilities and mentor intern and staff accountants Review team members' work for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards Build client relationships by serving as a responsive, knowledgeable point of contact Grow your technical skills through hands-on experience and ongoing professional development Required Qualifications: Proven experience in public accounting (minimum 3-5 years preferred) Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively supervising and mentoring others Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong client interaction abilities Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain composure and positive attitude under pressure Flexibility to travel based on client and business requirements Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution Preferred Qualifications: CPA certification or progress toward certification Experience with audit software and tax preparation systems Industry-specific experience (nonprofit, manufacturing, professional services) Benefits: 401(k) with matching and profit-sharing contributions Health insurance Paid time off Flex time outside of busy season Competitive bonus structure and referral program Professional development support and continuing education opportunities Clear advancement opportunities within a growing firm #J-18808-Ljbffr Hoyt, Filippetti, and Malaghan LLC
