Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This position requires working in a Level IV trauma center. The facility is also a Primary Stroke Center and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. There is an active FNE program with an RN on call 24/7 for these cases. The unit has 74 beds, with 21 general and a 6-bed annex for additional capacity. Patient types include all ages. The patient ratios are RN 1:4 (Days & Nights) and Tech 1:8 (Days & Nights). Support on the unit includes a charge nurse with reduced patient assignments. There is a hospitalist in-house 24/7, as well as an ED MD. A Health Unit Coordinator and phlebotomy services are also available 24/7 to assist with peripheral blood draws. Nursing Station Telemetry monitoring is conducted without a telemetry tech. The charting system used is EMR: EPIC. IV pumps used are Alaris, and the medical dispensing system is Pyxis. GE monitors are utilized on the unit. Scheduling requires a weekend rotation of one weekend per month. No call is required for this position. There are no holiday expectations. Scrubs must be solid colors, professional with no graphics, logos, or designs.
