Cello Teacher

The mission of Zeta is to provide a world‑class K-12 education that combines academic excellence with social‑emotional development for all students. We currently operate multiple elementary and middle schools in the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, and continue to expand each year. In this role, you will teach cello at one or more of our campuses, including Tremont Park, Mount Eden, South Bronx, Inwood, and the upcoming high school campus. Lessons take place during the school day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and may be scheduled across multiple campuses. The mission of Zeta’s music program is to provide a world‑class music education that leads to musical excellence, joy, and self‑expression. We are searching for a part‑time Cello Teacher with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of relevant teaching experience. Responsibilities Teach weekly cello lessons to students across Zeta’s network of schools Provide instruction through individual and small‑group lessons during the school day Prepare students for recitals and other performance opportunities Communicate regularly with families to support student progress and at‑home practice Use established method books and supplement with additional repertoire and musicianship activities as appropriate Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in music or related field Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a school setting Passion for working with motivated students in an urban environment Additional Information Position starts July 2026.
