Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care — including eyes, vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments — until transfer to postpartum
• Circulate in the OR as required across 4 operating rooms
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate; perform electronic fetal monitoring using EPIC
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby care, as needed
• Work in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines; expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed, with a commitment to 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Ability to circulate in the OR and provide newborn care — both are hard-stop requirements
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered local; local candidates are accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced Labor and Delivery environments with high census volume
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
