Position Summary

Zenius is seeking an experienced Lead Database Administrator / Analyst to support a large-scale federal technology program. The ideal candidate will have strong enterprise database administration experience across complex environments, with expertise in database performance, architecture, data integration, and analytics.

Candidates must be able to work onsite five days per week in the Baltimore, MD area. Previous Social Security Administration (SSA) experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise databases across z/OS, UNIX/Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
• Perform database design, architecture, performance tuning, indexing, maintenance, optimization, backup, and recovery.
• Support DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, and PL/SQL environments.
• Support ETL, data warehousing, BI, data integration, and cloud/big-data platforms.
• Implement data governance, data quality, security, and compliance controls.
• Support advanced analytics, including predictive modeling, anomaly detection, risk modeling, and fraud analytics.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable database environments.

Required Qualifications

• 3 5+ years of database administration, database engineering, or related data experience.
• Strong experience with DB2, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL, and enterprise relational databases.
• Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with z/OS, UNIX/Linux, Windows, and/or cloud database environments.
• Experience with ETL, data warehousing, BI, or data integration technologies.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in the Baltimore, MD area.

Highly Preferred

• Previous SSA experience.
• Federal government experience.
• Experience with Hadoop, cloud data platforms, data lakes, or advanced analytics.
• Fraud detection, predictive modeling, anomaly detection, or program-integrity experience.
• One or more relevant database/cloud certifications, such as Oracle OCP, AWS, Azure, Microsoft, or DB2 certifications.
