Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Description

The Registered Dental Hygienist plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive oral health care within a small dental hygiene team, typically comprising 1-3 hygienists. Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role serves patients of mixed age groups, focusing on preventive care and maintaining patient oral health through education and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains
Conduct radiographic imaging for diagnostic purposes
Educate patients on oral health maintenance and preventive care
Implement infection control protocols and sterilize equipment
Maintain accurate and detailed patient charting records
Assist in developing treatment plans tailored to patient needs

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
Experience in patient care and periodontal therapy
Proficient in radiography and infection control procedures
Skilled in oral health education and patient communication
Strong charting abilities and effective time management
