Neonatologist – Full-Time Opportunity

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana

• Full-time Neonatologist role
• Join a collaborative, high-acuity NICU team
• Schedule: 7-on / 7-off with home call model
• Position Type: Permanent (not accepting locums)
• Residency Requirement: Must live locally (relocation may be required)
• Visa Sponsorship: Not available

• NICU Level: III (34 beds)
• Annual Deliveries: ~1,500–2,000
• Care Responsibilities:
  • Daily neonatal rounds & patient management
  • Newborn nursery coverage
  • Oversight of in-house patients while NNP transport team handles transfers
  • Participation in quality improvement & evidence-based care initiatives

• Team Model: 2 Neonatologists + 4 NNPs
• Support: 24/7 in-house NNP coverage
• Environment: Collegial, multidisciplinary collaboration

• Rotation: 7-on / 7-off
• Daily Work: Daytime rounds
• Call: Home call after rounds (24-hour responsibility during assigned week)
• Weekends: Included in rotation

• Board Certification: Pediatrics – Required
• Neonatology: Board Eligible or Board Certified – Accepted (must be truly BE/BC)
