Endless Energy, a growing Massachusetts energy efficiency company with 40 years of experience, is seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals ready to build their careers as Home Energy Specialists.

Our Home Energy Specialists work directly with Massachusetts homeowners to conduct comprehensive home energy assessments, identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency, and educate customers on solutions that can help reduce energy usage and utility costs.

This position works directly with the Mass Save® program and includes recommendations surrounding insulation, air sealing, windows, high-efficiency heating and cooling, heat pumps, and other energy-saving improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting new people, solving problems, and combining technical knowledge with consultative, solution-based sales.

Compensation

This is a full-time, base salary plus commission position.

• $44,000 annual base salary

We provide a comprehensive paid training program designed to prepare you for a successful career in the energy efficiency industry.

Our training combines classroom learning, hands-on field experience, Mass Save® program education, and BPI certification training. You will work alongside experienced team members while developing the technical, customer service, and sales skills needed to independently conduct home energy assessments.

Previous home energy auditing experience is not required. However, candidates with existing BPI certification, Mass Save® experience, weatherization or insulation knowledge, residential construction experience, or a strong sales background are highly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

As a Home Energy Specialist, you will:

• Conduct residential home energy assessments in accordance with Mass Save® program requirements and guidelines.
• Evaluate homes to identify energy usage, energy loss, and opportunities for improved energy efficiency.
• Inspect insulation, air sealing, heating and cooling systems, windows, and other components that impact a home's overall energy performance.
• Gather measurements and information necessary to accurately assess the home's energy efficiency needs. 
• Utilize technology and industry tools to document findings and develop energy-saving recommendations.
• Create computer simulations and energy models of residential building systems when required.
• Prepare detailed home energy assessment reports outlining recommended energy efficiency improvements.
• Explain assessment findings and recommendations clearly to homeowners.
• Educate customers on the benefits, costs, available incentives, and potential energy savings associated with recommended improvements.
• Recommend appropriate weatherization, insulation, heating and cooling, and other energy efficiency solutions based on the home's needs.
• Use a consultative, solution-based sales approach to help homeowners move forward with recommended energy efficiency improvements.
• Maintain consistent communication with homeowners by phone, email, and text throughout the assessment and sales process.
• Respond promptly to customer questions and concerns.
• Ensure work scopes and instructions are accurate and clearly documented so approved weatherization measures can be completed properly.
• Perform job-site quality checks when required, including reviewing air sealing, insulation placement, and other completed energy efficiency work.
• Maintain working knowledge of Mass Save® weatherization guidelines, specifications, and program requirements.
• Maintain accurate customer records, assessment information, recommendations, and follow-up activity within company systems and CRM.
• Stay current on energy efficiency technology, Mass Save® program requirements, building science principles, and industry best practices.
• Travel throughout an assigned Massachusetts territory to complete scheduled customer appointments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, personable, organized, and comfortable balancing the technical and customer-facing aspects of the position.

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Current BPI certification
• Previous experience with the Mass Save® program or another residential energy efficiency program
• Experience conducting residential home energy assessments
• Knowledge of weatherization, insulation, air sealing, or residential building science
• Residential construction, HVAC, insulation, or home improvement experience
• At least 1 year of sales experience or a demonstrated background in customer-facing communication
• Experience with consultative or solution-based sales
• Experience using Salesforce or another CRM platform

Additional Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with homeowners
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple customers, appointments, and follow-up responsibilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively
• Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, CRM systems, and other technology in the field
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
• Valid driver's license in good standing
• Reliable vehicle
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing
• Must live in Massachusetts and be able to reliably commute to our corporate office in Marlborough, MA for training, department meetings, and other scheduled company events
• Reliable internet access and an appropriate workspace for remote administrative work
• Physical & Field Requirements
• This is an active field position that requires inspecting different areas of residential homes.
• Candidates must be able to:
• Enter and maneuver through basements, attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas
• Bend, crouch, kneel, climb, and move throughout residential properties as necessary to conduct assessments
• Work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
• Work around heat, cold, dust, dirt, heights, and confined spaces
• Safely use equipment and tools required to complete residential energy assessments
• Obtain and maintain certifications and training required to perform essential job functions
• Travel regularly throughout an assigned territory
