Staff Accountant

Full Time Professional Corporate, Chicago, IL, US Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually Staff Accountant Location: River North, Downtown Chicago. This position is onsite only. No remote work. The Role: KOS Services Inc. / Dental Dreams actively seeks a motivated, entry‑level Staff Accountant. The role will oversee the accounting for a subgroup of company operations and be comfortable in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment. Candidates must be highly accurate and detail‑oriented, have the depth of understanding to check their work, and be experienced in working independently and meeting deadlines. Who Are We: We oversee accounting for various practices within a dynamic, growing company with offices in Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Mexico, South Carolina, Louisiana, California, Michigan, and Washington, DC. Our mission is to provide high-quality dental services in first‑class facilities. Responsibilities Review and record financial activity during monthly, mid‑year, and year‑end accounting close processes, including preparation of journal entries and monthly financial review package Ensure all revenues, expenses, and balance sheet items are correctly and accurately recorded and result in the accurate and timely presentation of the company's financial condition according to GAAP and company procedures. Review and process accounts payable transactions timely and according to deadlines. Assist in preparing supporting schedules and other processes related to mid‑year and annual financial statement audits and other government audits as needed. Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy within the role and for the department. Oversee filing of records related to operations the accountant oversees. Perform ad hoc tasks and reporting requests for the management team as needed related to the various functions. Collaborate effectively with internal and external contacts in the oversight of company operations for business units.
