CAF OPERATIONS MANAGER

NU3S CAF, KITCHEN & CONVENIENCE STORE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 DOE; Bonus to be discussed upon meeting performance and company goals.

NU3S is seeking a hands-on Caf, Kitchen & Convenience Store Operations Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations across the Caf, Kitchen, Beverage Program, and Convenience Store. This role will serve as the General Manager's primary operational support and will be responsible for staff coordination, inventory, purchasing, product costing, POS administration, delivery platforms, order fulfillment, customer experience, and overall operating discipline. The ideal candidate will have strong food-service or retail operations experience, good people-management skills, and the ability to quickly learn NU3S technology platforms and operating systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage daily Caf, Kitchen, Beverage, and Convenience Store operations under the direction of the General Manager.
• Coordinate staff schedules, shift rotations, opening/closing activities, and floor coverage.
• Supervise and support Baristas, Kitchen staff, Convenience Store staff, and other frontline employees.
• Assist with employee onboarding, training, performance follow-up, and cross-training.
• Step in during peak periods and help resolve operational problems in real time.
• Coordinate daily kitchen production, prep levels, food quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with recipes, food-safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper storage.
• Work with chefs, cooks, Barista Leads, and the General Manager to maintain consistent quality.
• Support beverage-program execution and ensure Baristas are properly trained on recipes, preparation, presentation, and service standards.
• Be comfortable providing basic operational support in the kitchen when necessary.
• Maintain appropriate product assortment, shelf availability, pricing, merchandising, and presentation.
• Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, damaged, and expired products.
• Coordinate product replenishment and ensure high-demand items remain available.
• Help improve Convenience Store sales, margins, and product mix.
• Maintain accurate inventory across Caf, Kitchen, Beverage, and Convenience Store operations.
• Monitor PAR levels, reorder points, spoilage, waste, shrinkage, and inventory variances.
• Coordinate purchase orders, receiving, and vendor follow-up.
• Verify deliveries for quantity, quality, pricing, and condition.
• Maintain accurate product costs and assist the General Manager with pricing and margin review.
• Product creation, pricing, promotions, and inventory updates in the POS.
• Possist/Restoworks administration and inventory synchronization.
• Basic troubleshooting of POS and operational technology issues.
• Maintaining accurate menus, pricing, availability, and product information across third-party delivery platforms.
• Monitoring delivery orders and resolving operational issues related to online ordering and fulfillment.
• Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and with proper presentation.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and customer service.
• Address routine customer concerns and escalate significant issues to the General Manager.
• Ensure required opening, closing, sanitation, temperature, and operating checklists are consistently followed.
• Identify recurring operational issues and recommend practical improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Prior management or supervisory experience in a Caf, QSR, restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store, retail food operation, or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of daily food-service or retail operations.
• Experience supervising frontline employees and managing schedules.
• Working knowledge of inventory, purchasing, receiving, and cost controls.
• Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using POS systems and learning new technology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

PREFERRED

• Coffee or specialty beverage experience.
• Kitchen or culinary operations experience.
• Convenience Store or retail-merchandising experience.
• Food and beverage costing experience.
• Experience with delivery platforms and inventory-enabled POS systems.
• NYC food-service experience.
• Food-safety certification or ability to obtain required certification.
