Job Description
Job Description:\n\nPosition Title: Student Enrollment Manager | Founding Years Middle School Location: New Haven, CT Reports To: Director of External Relations & Special Projects Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt Start Date: Immediate Hire Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience. About Edmonds Cofield Preparatory Academy for Young Men Edmonds Cofield Preparatory Academy for Young Men (ECPA) is New Haven’s first dedicated middle school for young men. Our mission is to develop resourceful, resilient, and responsible young men who think critically, lead ethically, and contribute positively to their communities. ECPA provides a rigorous academic experience that fosters mastery of learning while preparing students to navigate real-world choices with confidence and integrity. Through exposure to entrepreneurial thinking, leadership development, and hands-on learning opportunities, our young men cultivate the skills and mindsets necessary to excel in high school, college, and beyond. For more information about ECPA, please visit About the Opportunity Edmonds Cofield Preparatory Academy for Young Men is seeking a Founding Years Student Enrollment Manager to play a central role in the school’s next chapter. As Connecticut’s first all‑boys public charter school, ECPA is building a model that expands opportunity, strengthens identity, and creates a learning environment where young men can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. ECPA is now entering its next pivot stage of growth. After a successful launch year with a small founding cohort, the school is now growing toward full scale—ultimately serving nearly 400 scholars in grades 5–8—and student enrollment is at the heart of that trajectory. As a key member of ECPA's School Operations Team, the Founding Years Student Enrollment Manager will help shape that growth by ensuring families understand what makes ECPA unique, by strengthening trust and visibility across Greater New Haven, and by guiding prospective families through an enrollment experience that is welcoming, clear, and supportive. This role requires someone who is energized by building in a less‑established environment, who can speak authentically and compellingly about the value of an all‑boys model, and who thrives in work that is relational, community‑centered, and mission‑driven. Joining ECPA at this stage means stepping into a school community still writing its early chapters. You will help design outreach systems, cultivate partnerships, and build enrollment practices that will shape the school for years to come. For someone who enjoys fast‑paced, people‑centered work and is motivated by the challenge of growing a school with a powerful purpose, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of young men and the future of ECPA. ~ ~ ~ Key Responsibilities of the Role As a Founding Years Student Enrollment Manager at ECPA, you will be primarily responsible for: Administrative & Student Enrollment Operations Monitor and manage all aspects of the enrollment pipeline, including application tracking, waitlist management, and timely follow‑up with families. Coordinate the distribution of acceptance letters, enrollment packets, and required documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with ECPA and state guidelines. Support the Test‑to‑Place process by scheduling assessments, communicating logistics to families, and maintaining organized records. Maintain consistent, high‑quality communication with families through phone calls, emails, text messages, and mailers, ensuring every interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, and ECPA’s values. Track outreach and enrollment data with precision, supporting the FACE Team in monitoring progress toward recruitment and retention goals. Family Outreach & Relationship Building Serve as a welcoming, responsive point of contact for prospective and current families, offering guidance, information, and support throughout the enrollment process. Build trusting relationships with families by providing clear, timely communication and ensuring they feel informed, valued, and connected to the ECPA community. Conduct proactive outreach to families who have expressed interest, submitted applications, or begun the enrollment process, ensuring no family feels lost or disconnected. Support family‑facing events such as Open Houses, school tours, information sessions, and community celebrations. Community Engagement & External Partnerships Represent ECPA at community events, fairs, and tabling opportunities to increase visibility and strengthen ECPA’s presence across New Haven. Conduct outreach to local daycares, early childhood centers, nonprofits, community centers, and other partner organizations to build and sustain enrollment pipelines. Participate in canvassing initiatives, neighborhood outreach, and other “boots‑on‑the‑ground” strategies to connect with families where they live, work, and gather. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community partners, ensuring ECPA is seen as a trusted, collaborative, and mission‑aligned educational option. Promotional & Brand‑Building Support Support the development and distribution of promotional materials, including flyers, mailers, digital content, and community‑facing communications. Ensure ECPA’s brand, mission, and values are consistently represented in all outreach interactions and materials. Assist with social media content, community announcements, and other visibility‑boosting initiatives as needed. Collaboration & Professional Learning Work closely with the FACE Team, school leadership, and operations staff to align outreach strategies, share insights, and coordinate enrollment efforts. Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and coaching cycles to strengthen skills in communication, outreach, data tracking, and community engagement. Contribute to a positive, solutions‑oriented adult culture that values feedback, reflection, and collective responsibility for ECPA’s success. Leadership & Contribution Beyond the Role Model professionalism, warmth, and mission‑alignment in all interactions with families, partners, and community members. Take initiative in identifying new outreach opportunities, strengthening community relationships, and improving enrollment systems. Support school‑wide events, routines, and initiatives that reinforce ECPA’s culture of excellence, community, and service. Uphold and embody the values of Elevate Charter Schools, serving as a visible ambassador of our commitment to equity, inclusion, and educational uplift. School Operations Support Provide daily main office support and perform administrative duties as needed. Facilitate school and network-wide initiatives to support the Operations Manager.
