Associate Attorney

Overview The Houston office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 2 to 7 years of experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and excellent communication skills. Litigation experience is preferred and previous experience with personal injury litigation, client and insurance carrier reporting, and billing is strongly preferred. Valid Texas BAR license required. Responsibilities Defend a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dramshop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. Handle day-to-day aspects of these cases with partner oversight, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Work in a fast-paced yet collaborative and collegial environment; stay organized, proactive, independent, and motivated to gain hands-on litigation experience. Qualifications 2 to 7 years of experience in civil litigation. Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure. Excellent advocacy and writing skills; strong communication abilities.
