Position Summary – Department Lead – Apparel Surf, Apparel and Accessories The Ledgehavean immediate opening for a DepartmentLeadforSurf, Apparel and Accessories. The primary responsibilities of the Department Lead are to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service, work with management toexecutedepartmentgoals, andkeep the store stocked, clean and organized, andprocessingsales transactions through both delegation and action. Company Summary – The Ledge The Ledge is a boutique, beach style outfitter shop operating within Turner Ace Hardware specializing in fine apparel and footwear, paddle boarding equipment and fishing gear from brands likeFaherty, Tommy Bahama,Johnny O,Olukai, Rainbow, Reef, Free Fly,Pelagic, Costa, Maui Jim andRayban, to name a few. Major Responsibilities Provide enjoyable, knowledgeable, and friendly service to our customers. Maintain awareness of our products, merchandisepromotionsand advertisements Become a brand expert for our productsin order toelevate the customer experience Working with other store associates to keep our store clean, organized, and visually appealing. Ensure the department is stocked, clean and ready for business every day through delegation and action. This includes a clear sales floor,organizedandaccuratesignage. Enforcesafety policies andprocedures,is a safety role model. Provide direction and guidance to associates to ensure effective execution of operational programs. Maintainaccuraterecord keeping includingrecords of individual sales forcommissionedproduct Effectively delegate tasks to associates to ensure productivity and efficiencythrough both action and task management software Developthe weekly work schedule for the department Train current and new associates in basic store functions and implement training programs as needed. Monitor basic and seasonal merchandise displays to maximize sales and profit; also review thestock roomand bin areas daily,identifyingbackstock to bring to the sales floor,new itemsto display, etc. Ensure daily inventory management tasks are completedincluding research into products with defects Processing sales transactions in a quick and friendly manner Adhere to loss prevention, inventorycontroland compliance procedures Other duties assigned by management Minimum Requirements Mustbe able toworka schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evenings. Strong leadership and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to lead and develop others Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail Basic computer skills A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for an extendedperiod of time Move and handleheavyboxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the warehouse and store, whichentailsbending, twisting, lifting, etc. and perform all functions as set forth by the business Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
