Location: Glen Allen, VA
Type: Contract
Shift & Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support both front and back office clinical operations in an occupational health setting. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, administrative tasks, and patient education while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Greet, register, room, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, EKGs, point-of-care (POC) testing, and specimen collection.
Administer vaccines and assist providers with examinations and treatments.
Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and support front office operations.
Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared while following infection control and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship); 2–3 years preferred.
Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required.
Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Front and back office Medical Assistant experience.
Experience performing EKGs and Point-of-Care (POC) testing.
Experience with patient scheduling, rooming, and obtaining vital signs.
Current BLS or CPR certification.
Strong communication, computer, organizational, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical Assistant Certification.
Occupational Health experience.
Experience working with pediatric patients (ages 2 and older).
