TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Charlottesville, Virginia, 22903!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medicine/Surgery/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: Virginia license pending accepted Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience of 5 preferred Description: The patient ratio for days and weekends is 1:4. The patient ratio for nights is 1:5. Patient diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis. Shift offerings are either 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend is required. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Approval for up to 40 hours of time off is possible. Floating within the scope of practice is expected. Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit has a daily census of 26 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Special procedures include nurse-driven heparin infusions, insulin drips via glucomander, and telemetry management. Required skills include management and interpretation of dysrhythmias, tracheostomy care, wound care, and telemetry. Familiarity with lift equipment, chest tubes, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and wound vacs is necessary.
