Options include generous 401k, medical, dental and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, compensated volunteer hours and MORE!Paid time off, holidays and a separate bank of sick time!What you'll be working on…Accurately reads and records meter consumptionProcesses disconnection of service for non-paymentsCollects overdue paymentsFollows appropriate steps in turning on/off of gas servicePerforms periodic Class I and II meter changesChecks performing fuel line pressure tests, pipe Class I and II meter sets and tie-in customer fuel linesChecks customer equipment for code compliance, safe operation and installationKnowledgeable and understanding of customer needs, concerns and expectationsInvestigates leak complaints and make situation safe or take appropriate action to make situation safeProperly uses and maintains gas detection equipmentEnsures all orders are completed legibly, fully and accuratelyInvestigates high and low bill complaintsKnowledgeable of, supports, promotes and participates in the company's CHOICE ProgramDelivers personal contact notification during winter monthsInstalls remote read devices on metersUnderstands PSC policies on termination of service and theft of serviceRecognizes potential hazardous situationsChecks for proper meter and regulator functionDemonstrates knowledge of NFPA 54 code, state and local codes and regulationsMaintains company vehicle, tools and equipmentWho you are...You have excellent customer contact skillsYou have a conscientious work ethicYou have a valid Driver License with responsible driving recordYou possess a strong mechanical aptitudeYou have a normal level of visual and hearing abilityYou have a high school diploma or GED equivalentWhere you'll be working:Outside, customer premises, and minimal office timeWorking around potentially flammable substancesChesapeake Utilities Corporation is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse workforce.
