About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: AK RN License required in hand for Auto Offer Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - License pending accepted if application is completed within 48 hours of signing - Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs - Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays Description: The Progressive Care Unit is a step-down unit from the Intensive Care Unit. It serves a wide variety of patient populations requiring multiple disciplines. Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model is utilized on this unit. For every patient, there is one bedside RN, a Virtual RN, and one CNA. Bedside RN to patient ratio is 1:4; CNA to patient ratio is 1:6. The virtual nurse works remotely and assists with admission, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds. Approximately 30% of the patient population is cardiac in nature, including CHF, MI, and post-operative cardiac patients. Respiratory patients are also cared for, including those with COVID, FLU, COPD, and Asthma exacerbations. The unit accommodates neuro and renal patients, as well as complicated medical-surgical cases requiring higher levels of monitoring. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. The environment requires the ability to perform essential nursing skills, manage a variety of patient conditions, and provide high-quality care.
