Job Description
Job Description
About the role
We are a tech company. We’re looking for independent contractors to do evening field research at residential properties around Houston. You’ll visit properties after 9 PM, note what you see on site, and submit a short report from your phone after each visit.
You set your own schedule. You choose which nights to work, which properties to visit, and how many to take on. There are no minimum hours and no shifts.
What you’ll do
- Visit assigned residential properties in the evening, staying in areas open to the public
- Observe and note specific on-site details using a checklist we provide
- Have brief, friendly conversations with on-site staff when they’re open to it
- Submit a short report through a mobile form within 24 hours of each visit
- Invoice every two weeks for completed visits
What we’re looking for
- 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Reliable transportation and a smartphone with a data plan
- Comfortable working on your own at night in unfamiliar neighborhoods
- Observant and detail-oriented, with honest and accurate reporting
- Professional and easy to talk to, able to stay calm and courteous
- Discreet: this work involves confidential company information
- Willing to complete a background check
Good to know
- This is an independent contractor (1099) role, not employment. It has no benefits or tax withholding, and you cover your own travel costs.
- Pay is per qualifying visit, and some visits pay more than others. Full details come at onboarding.
- Pay is per qualifying visit, and some visits pay more than others. Efficient contractors can make $300+ on a good night by clustering visits in one area. Earnings vary night to night, and full details come at onboarding.
- You can decline or end any visit at any time for any reason.
- It works well as a side gig for night owls, students, rideshare drivers, or anyone who wants flexible evening income.
To apply: Submit your resume or a short note about your availability and why you’d be a good fit.
