Horticulturist Supervisor City of Odessa – Parks & Recreation The City of Odessa is seeking a qualified Horticulturist Supervisor to oversee daily horticultural operations within the Parks & Recreation Department. This position supervises maintenance crews and manages greenhouse operations, tree farms, and seasonal color beds to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality park maintenance. Key Responsibilities Schedule and supervise horticulture and parks maintenance crews Oversee greenhouse, tree farm, and seasonal planting programs Develop planting and treatment plans Direct fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide applications Maintain plant inventories, equipment, and supplies Ensure compliance with safety regulations and City standards Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of horticulture experience (arboriculture, greenhouse/tree farm operations, or pesticide application) or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Texas Driver’s License Pesticide Applicator License required within one (1) year of employment Work is performed indoors and outdoors and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
