Associate Attorney

A well-established Texas civil litigation firm is seeking an attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join its Austin office.

This is an opportunity for a capable litigator to take meaningful ownership of sophisticated, high-exposure matters involving catastrophic personal injury, professional liability, and construction defects. The successful candidate will be comfortable working up cases—not simply handling a narrow portion of the litigation process—and will play an active role from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.

Responsibilities

• Develop case strategy and manage matters through each stage of litigation
• Conduct factual investigations and evaluate liability and damages
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and substantive case analyses
• Take and defend depositions
• Identify, retain, and work with expert witnesses
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials
• Communicate directly with clients and provide practical, timely guidance

Qualifications

• Four to eight years of substantive civil litigation experience
• Active Texas law license in good standing
• Demonstrated ability to independently work up and manage cases
• Experience with depositions, expert witnesses, motion practice, and case strategy
• Strong writing, analytical, and client-communication skills
• Experience in casualty defense, professional liability, or construction litigation is preferred
• Trial or meaningful second-chair experience is a plus
