HR Manager

Human Resources ManagerArizona Eye Consultants is establishing a new Human Resources Manager role to build and lead the practice's HR function. Reporting to the Practice Administrator, the HR Manager will oversee full-cycle recruiting, employee onboarding, benefits administration, and the performance review process, while serving as a trusted partner to department managers and supervisors. This is a newly developing role with the opportunity to shape HR processes and infrastructure as the practice grows. The primary function of this position is to support the Practice Administrator across a range of administrative and operational responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & HiringReview resumes and applications for open positions across the practiceScreen candidates and coordinate the interview processFacilitate reference checks for candidates under considerationCoordinate and facilitate second interviews with department managers and supervisorsExtend offers and communicate hiring decisions in partnership with the Practice AdministratorOnboardingFacilitate onboarding for all new employees, ensuring a smooth and consistent new-hire experiencePrepare and process new-hire paperwork, orientation materials, and required compliance documentationServe as the primary point of contact for new employees during their first weeks of employmentBenefits AdministrationManage medical and dental benefits enrollment for new hiresServe as the point of contact for employee benefits questions and eligibility issuesNegotiate contracts and renewal terms for the practice's annual medical and dental benefit plansEvaluate carrier proposals and coverage options to ensure competitive, cost-effective plansPerformance ManagementFacilitate the performance review process for all employeesCollaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure timely, consistent, and fair evaluationsMaintain review documentation and track completion across departmentsGeneral Administrative SupportAssist the Practice Administrator with other HR and operational responsibilities as neededSupport the development of HR policies, procedures, and best practices as the role and function growMaintain accurate and confidential employee recordsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field requiredMaster's degree (MBA or MHA) preferredPrior experience in an HR generalist or HR management role; healthcare or medical practice experience preferredWorking knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management practicesExperience negotiating vendor or benefits contracts preferredStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organizationHigh degree of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential employee informationExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independentlyProficiency with HRIS, benefits administration platforms, and standard office softwareGrowth PotentialAs this is a newly developing role, responsibilities may expand over time. Future scope may include payroll administration, in addition to the core recruiting, benefits, and performance management functions outlined above.Work EnvironmentThis position is based on-site at Arizona Eye Consultants and works closely with the Practice Administrator, department managers, supervisors, and staff across the practice.
