Your focus: timely, budget-friendly, and quality New Product Introductions, including sustainability goals. Your team will conceive original ideas for technologies and products and introduce them into practice. These exciting teams are responsible for technology evaluation and implementation; product definition, development, detailed design, verification, qualification, and release; and product sustaining activities. You will partner with functions across the business to foster continuous improvement in our engineering systems and drive effective knowledge management within the engineering domain. You will also play a crucial role in managing engineering capacity and capability, identifying skill gaps, and devising individualized development plans to bridge these gaps effectively. Join us in this dynamic role where your leadership and expertise will shape the future of our engineering endeavors.Job Requirements• Leads New Product Introduction (NPI) design engineering resources.• Drives the spirit of innovation into the organization to design and launch differentiated products for solar PV Energy • Partner with our customers and internal stakeholders to capture needs and expectation from product standpoint. • Provides hands-on technical leadership through the product development cycle and recommends design approaches as required. • Drives continuous improvement to reduce NPI cycle time & improve on-time & on-budget delivery of product development.• Ensure close coordination of engineering teams with manufacturing development & quality engineers throughout in the development process to identify and address design for manufacturability challenges• Enforce the proper usage of advanced quality planning tools in the development, like DFMEA and FEA (structural and rheological) to identify design risks early on and mitigation strategies• Ensure project execution is on time, on budget and on quality to committed project execution contracts• Management of departmental goals and objectives, regular employee conversations with purpose, and year-end evaluation processes, as well as ensuring continuous development of necessary and evolving skills in the product development function (AI…)• Fosters a continuous improvement atmosphere, as a learning organization What your background should look like• Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline (Master preferred); HS/GED with equivalent work related exp may be considered.• Minimum of 7 years’ experience within an Engineering / Manufacturing environment with project responsibilities associated with product or process development, and/or project management, ideally with renewable energy, with 3 years’ experience leading engineering teams• Ability to develop connectors and assemblies to meet critical global standards, such as ANSI, UL, IEEE, and IEC • Component material selection to optimize strength, electrical insulation, stability, and longevity, while meeting the product and standard requirements• Deep knowledge of product development processes in a stage-gate approach• Possesses high degree of initiative, technical competence, engineering process knowledge and strong communication skills • Experience in designing metal parts (stamping and/or forging and/or machining and/or casting)• Experience in designing structural plastic or elastomeric parts• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes combined with good technical awareness• Adapts/makes departures from traditional approaches to enhance value in both new and existing methods and products• Fluent communication with own team, customers, internal senior business leaders and technology leaders in English • LDFSS or DMAIC 6-sigma black or green belt an advantage#NATASS #LIONSITECompetenciesSET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITYTE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
