Capital Project Manager

We are seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to lead and execute capital projects within a complex manufacturing environment. This individual will serve as a key liaison between operations, engineering, contractors, and business stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can identify challenges, develop practical solutions, and take ownership of projects from concept through completion. This role offers a balance of office-based project management and hands-on collaboration within a manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities Lead capital projects from initial scope development through commissioning and project closeout. Develop project charters, requests for proposals (RFPs), bid evaluations, schedules, budgets, and execution plans. Coordinate engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, and external vendors throughout project execution. Manage project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables to achieve business objectives. Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Review engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications for quality and compliance. Support construction activities, commissioning efforts, and handoff to operations. Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare project documentation, progress updates, and stakeholder communications. Mentor and support less-experienced team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5-15 years of experience in project engineering, capital project management, or related engineering roles. Experience in a chemical processing, refinery, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Proven success managing projects from concept through commissioning. Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization. Experience working with contractors, vendors, and engineering firms. Familiarity with CAD/design software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
