Capture Systems Engineer

Min 6 months contract Role Overview In this role, you will collaborate with research scientists, hardware engineers, software engineers, and cross-functional teams to design, build, and operate advanced capture systems. These systems support AI research focused on understanding and modeling the physical world. The role involves developing, upgrading, and maintaining high-throughput capture systems used in production environments. Key Responsibilities Conduct data capture sessions, annotation, processing, and quality assurance using commercial and proprietary tools Support day-to-day operations and maintenance of capture labs Assemble, debug, and validate capture systems based on defined specifications Collaborate with hardware engineers, vendors, and internal research teams Perform end-to-end testing to ensure system accuracy and reliability Identify, troubleshoot, and isolate hardware/software issues Provide technical feedback on system performance, quality, and stability Track project milestones and timelines Escalate blockers and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues Create and maintain technical documentation for capture systems Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments, including command-line usage Experience in production capture environments Hands-on experience with: Depth sensors and IMUs Integrated capture system setups Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills (hardware + software) Experience in applied research or product development involving hardware/software integration Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams Experience working in cross-functional environments Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience with capture systems Experience with distributed systems or cloud platforms Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, Zsh) Fault analysis / failure mode analysis Real-time systems Experience taking systems from concept to deployment Hands‑on experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping #J-18808-Ljbffr PRI Global
