Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for an Import Specialist to join our client’s Atlanta office. This position plays a key role in managing the import lifecycle, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments, compliance with U.S. regulations, and a seamless customer experience from arrival through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day import operations across air and ocean freight
• Coordinate cargo movement from port/airport arrival to final destination
• Prepare and review import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate timely clearance
• Communicate effectively with international partners, carriers, and clients
• Provide proactive updates and resolve any shipment disruptions
• Ensure all milestones and KPIs are met within agreed timelines
• Accurately input and manage shipment data within internal systems
• Support continuous improvement within import processes and workflows

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in import freight forwarding
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures and import regulations
• Experience handling both air and ocean shipments preferred
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset
• Able to prioritise workload in a deadline-driven environment
• Competent with Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within a third-party logistics provider or freight forwarder
• Exposure to high-volume shipment environments
• Knowledge of CFS, drayage, or inland transportation processes
• Additional language skills are advantageous
