Accountant
Opportunity Overview: Accountant position based in Houston, TX. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). Prepare schedules and journal entries for different agencies and states. You will report to the onsite Manager.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Prepare schedules and journal entries.
- Prepare monthly state and federal reports for the following agencies: General Land Office (GLO), Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR), Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), Commissioner of Land Office (CLO), Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC).
- Severance Tax Filings for the following States: Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma.
- Maintain tax rates and new setups within ERP.
- Record severance tax reimbursements related to marketing fee adjustments.
- Calculate and process owner interest payments.
- Assist with owner inquiries.
- Develop cross-departmental relationships to ensure information flow.
Who You Are: Must have a 4 year Accounting degree. Must have at least (15+ Years) experience preparing schedules and journal entries. Experience maintaining tax rates and new setups within ERP.
