Maintenance Mechanic

DIRECT HIRE | Madison, WI
Position Details

Pay: $23.00-$27.00/hr.
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 5:00 PM-1:00 AM

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems and control circuits to minimize equipment downtime.
Inspect, replace, and maintain gaskets and other mechanical components to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
Safely climb ladders and access elevated equipment for inspections, repairs, and installations.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and respond to emergency repair needs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status, repairs, and parts inventory.
Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
Work overtime as needed to support continuous manufacturing operations and production needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an electrical maintenance apprenticeship or technical training program.
Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or commercial laundry environment with 24/7 operations.
Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial electrical components.
Experience working with three-phase electrical systems is required.
Ability to safely operate forklifts; previous certification is helpful but not required. Training and certification are provided.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work safely in confined spaces.

Desired Skills

Gasket installation and replacement experience.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Experience with conveyor systems and industrial pumps in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
Knowledge of mechanical systems maintenance, including gasket replacement and alignment procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime to support production needs.
Basic welding or fabrication skills.
