Human Resources Manager

Travel: Approximately 25% (Locally within MO) The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support a multi-site distribution operation throughout the St. Louis market. This is a highly visible HR leadership role partnering directly with operations leaders in a unionized distribution environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who excels at building relationships, influencing leaders, navigating employee relations matters, and driving engagement across multiple locations. This position serves as a strategic business partner while remaining hands‑on with day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring compliance, supporting leadership, and fostering a positive employee experience. Key Responsibilities Partner with operations leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives across multiple distribution locations. Build trusted relationships with leaders and employees while serving as the primary HR resource for employee relations, coaching, and performance management. Support a unionized workforce by interpreting collective bargaining agreements, advising leaders on labor relations matters, and partnering during grievance resolution and labor discussions. Lead workplace investigations, document findings, and partner with Legal and Compliance when appropriate. Coach managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, corrective action plans, and employee development. Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention initiatives to ensure operational staffing needs are met. Facilitate leadership training, new hire orientation, and HR-related development programs. Guide leave of absence administration, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other employment‑related processes. Promote employee engagement by identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience and partnering with leadership to implement action plans. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while supporting audits and compliance initiatives. Serve as a visible HR presence throughout the distribution network, regularly spending time on the warehouse floor and building strong relationships with employees and leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 4 years in an HR Manager or HR Business Partner role. Previous experience supporting a unionized workforce within a distribution, supply chain, manufacturing, or logistics environment is required. Strong employee relations experience, including workplace investigations, performance management, and coaching leaders. Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and related regulations. Experience partnering with operational leadership in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and conflict resolution skills. Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel approximately 25% between St. Louis, Salem, MO, and other regional facilities. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
