Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorVPET is looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee the workflow at our facility. The candidate will be responsible for coaching, resolving opportunities and serving as a liaison between subordinates and upper management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. The candidate will understand the processes that are under the responsibilities of this position. Most of all we are looking for a genuine and ambitious candidate to fill this role with a dynamic and growing company.Key Responsibilities:Take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift following the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures.Supervise, develop and motivate direct reporting staff.Ensure clear communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all relating matters are managed while using the company resources in line with the Health and Safety policies.Identify root causes and take a fast-effective action to resolve any opportunity that arises by using problem solving skills.Work closely with other shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective while using effective communication tools.Maintain an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.Make appropriate decisions while following the companies organizational structure.Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.Minimum Requirements:Ideal Candidate: This is a role for someone who is dynamic, self-driven, results-oriented, and above all, who has a positive "CAN DO" outlook. VPET is looking for an organized, forward planning, logical thinker.Schedule: Candidate must be able to work extended hours on occasions and when required. Must be able to work all shifts and attend meetings when needed.Specific Job Skills: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and motivate coherently, both verbal and written, under the principles of manufacturing.Work Experience: Minimum 3 years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or within an equivalent capacity; ideally in a plastics background.Physical Requirements:Works in both an office environment and warehouse.Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time.Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time as required to walk-shop floor.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on the outside conditions.This is a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.Competitive Benefits:Medical (HMO), dental and vision insurance premium.401k plan, Employer contributes 3%, up to 4%.Company offers vacation and sick pay.Holiday Pay: Eight (8) paid holidays per year.Basic Life Insurance Paid (25K policy).
