Senior Desktop EngineerThe Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting desktop systems and infrastructure within the firm. This role requires a strong technical background and expertise in desktop operating systems, software deployment, system administration and advanced troubleshooting. The Senior Desktop Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of desktop systems, while also providing technical guidance and support to end-users.ResponsibilitiesManage modern endpoint lifecycle including provisioning, enrollment, compliance, updates, and retirementConfigure and support modern endpoint technologiesAdminister Microsoft 365 applications and endpoint policiesDeploy software, security updates, and configuration baselines using cloud and on-premises management platformsDevelop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate endpoint administration and reportingImplement and manage Group Policy, Intune Configuration Profiles, and Security BaselinesMonitor endpoint health, compliance, and performance using Microsoft Endpoint Analytics and other reporting toolsTroubleshoot complex desktop, application, and endpoint management issues across physical and virtual devicesDeploy, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and peripheralsProvide Tier 3 technical support for workstation, operating system, and endpoint-related incidentsCollaborate with internal teams to develop and enforce desktop security measures and policiesTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to desktop systems, software, and hardwareStay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in desktop engineering, recommending innovative solutions to improve desktop systems and user experienceDevelop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles, for desktop engineering processes and solutionsCollaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate and implement new desktop technologies and solutionsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in desktop engineering, system administration, or a related roleStrong knowledge of desktop operating systems, software deployment, and system administrationProficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to desktop systemsExperience with system performance analysis and optimizationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levelsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentCompensation and Total Rewards PackageRopes & Gray is proud to offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our business support team members. The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.Boston: $134,700 - $205,450New York: $145,800 - $222,350Working ConditionsThis position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
