Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Description:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of ultrasound experience.
Must hold one of the following certifications: ARDMS (AB) or ARDMS (OB).
Only general ultrasound examinations will be performed; vascular tech skills are not needed.
Shifts will be 5 days a week, either from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., depending on room availability.
Weekend coverage will consist of a 12-hour shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Weekday shifts leading up to and after weekends will be 7 hours (examples include 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
There is no on-call requirement for this position.
Responsibilities include performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures based on physician orders and department protocols.
The technologist will operate ultrasound equipment, selecting appropriate transducers, settings, and techniques to ensure optimal image quality.
Patients will be prepared for procedures through explanation of the exam, taking a relevant medical history, and correct positioning.
Normal and abnormal sonographic findings must be recognized and documented accurately.
Collaboration with radiologists and physicians is essential by providing preliminary impressions and ensuring timely delivery of images and reports.
Accurate patient records must be maintained, including procedure details and technical data.
The technologist is responsible for ensuring proper sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
Adherence to infection control, patient safety, and radiation safety protocols is required.
Participation in quality assurance programs and continuing education is essential.
Compliance with regulatory standards must be maintained, including HIPAA.
The technologist must complete procedures in an organized, timely, and accurate manner relative to department standards.
Effective communication is necessary to ensure customer identification, education, safety, and satisfaction.
Documentation and communication of any variations from protocol are required.
Interventions with patients and families of all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, will be performed.
