Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Washington, D.C. This role involves providing bedside care in the Labor and Delivery department, supporting women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. The position is a night shift 12-hour schedule, with an eight-week contract duration, requiring experience in labor and delivery settings.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours per week

• Start Date: 07/27/2026

• Location: 1200 PECAN STREET SE, Washington, DC 20020, United States

• Required Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia (DC)
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Labor and Delivery
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (intermediate level according to AWHONN standards)
  • Ability to work night shifts, with the flexibility to be on call once per week
  • Must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility and commit to a 12-week on-call activity for on-demand support

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Labor Experience
  • Experience with electronic fetal monitoring as per AWHONN standards

• Additional Information:

  • The patient population includes females of childbearing age, pregnant women at approximately 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, scheduled procedures such as C-sections, external cephalic versions, and Triage issues.
  • Responsibilities include admission, discharge, transfer, pre-op, and delivery procedures (vaginal and cesarean).
  • Common equipment utilized includes fetal monitors and documentation through protocols such as Cerner and Fetalink.
