Step into a contract opportunity supporting students as a skilled Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role covers two unique needs: a maternity leave position (beginning November 5th through mid-February) as well as a full school year assignment (August 24, 2026 - June 11, 2027). You'll work primarily onsite near Bellevue, MI, with an ideal hybrid schedule—three days in-person, one day remote, and a total of 30 hours per week.
Your expertise will empower students to access and participate fully in their educational environment, developing fine motor skills, adaptive strategies, and greater classroom independence. Qualifications:
- Current, valid Occupational Therapy license for the state of Michigan (must provide copy)
- Previous experience working as a school-based OT is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEP) and special education protocols
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary support teams
- Reliable access to technology for remote work components
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments in school settings
- Design and implement individualized intervention plans for students with various needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Monitor student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation according to district and state requirements
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning
