Medical Assistant On Site

Position Summary: Medical Assistant performs a combination of administrative and clinical tasks. MA will work alongside other medical staff under the supervision of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Works with an interdisciplinary team to provide administrative support.

Principal Duties: Prioritizes and organizes work effectively. Follows through on assignments without prompting and anticipates and prepares for potential problems and situations.

Clinical Duties: Medical assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clinical tasks including following up on patients, assisting in refilling prescriptions, filling out forms, and prior authorizations. Providing high quality patient care. Taking patient vitals. Performing Genetic Swab tests. Giving medication injections (as needed). Handling, tracking, and ordering medication samples and co-pay cards in a locked medication cabinet.

Administration Duties: Answering calls and returning phone calls, documenting patient information into EHR. Scanning documents into a patient's chart. Faxing lab orders/letters/forms.

Other Duties as Assigned: 10% Other Duties as Assigned: 5% Meetings: Attend meetings as assigned.

Education: *Medical Assistant or CNA certification preferred.

Experience: *Two years of experience as a MA or CNA in an outpatient setting preferred. Required Skills: *Evidence of current medication knowledge and skills. *Comprehension of HIPAA regulations. *Healthcare information entry and retrieval from the electronic health record skills.

Work Schedule: *3/4 Time (20-35 hours per week) * Monday - Friday, days Work Location: *Rexburg
