Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Process, review, and verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Conduct medication reviews to identify drug interactions, therapy duplications, and adherence concerns
• Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and treatment plans
• Support clinical pharmacy services including:
  • Immunizations
  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
  • Smoking cessation counseling
  • Naloxone prescribing
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication therapy outcomes
• Assist with insurance prior authorizations, claim resolution, and specialty medication coordination
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns as needed
• Maintain compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, OSHA, and 340B program requirements
• Participate in inventory management, workflow optimization, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support integrated care coordination with clinical and operational teams

Preferred Experience

• HIV/AIDS and sexual health medication management
• Specialty pharmacy experience
• Infectious disease pharmacotherapy
• 340B program knowledge
• Outpatient or community pharmacy experience
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills preferred

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent
• Active California pharmacist license in good standing
• Completion of PGY1 Residency or 2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy systems and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy environment
