General Production Worker Tire Retread ShopThis role provides hands-on general labor and production support in a tire retread shop. You will help with retread operations by removing used tread, preparing and measuring new tread, operating machinery and conveyor systems, and ensuring finished tires meet quality standards. The position involves consistent physical activity, working with pneumatic tools and hoists, and supporting multiple production areas as needed.ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily retread operations in a tire shop production environment.Remove used tread from tires using pneumatic tools in a safe and efficient manner.Measure and cut tire tread to the correct length according to specifications.Operate machinery to adhere new tread to wheels and ensure proper placement.Use hoists to lift and maneuver used semi-truck tires onto J-hooks attached to pulley and conveyor systems.Operate conveyor systems to transport tires into heating chambers.Bake tires for approximately four hours to complete the retread process and unload them from ovens using conveyor and pulley systems.Inspect retreaded tires for quality, identifying defects or issues and escalating as needed.Use pneumatic buffing tools to finish tires and achieve the required surface and appearance.Support production activities in other departments as needed to meet operational demands.Follow all safety procedures while working with heavy tires, hoists, conveyors, ovens, and pneumatic tools.Maintain a clean and organized work area despite working in a naturally dirty environment due to used tires.Work regular scheduled hours from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to stay until 1:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. for overtime when needed.Be available to work some Saturdays when business volumes require it, with at least one weeks notice provided.Perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift, including frequent standing, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.Essential SkillsAbility to perform general labor and production work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Comfort using pneumatic tools such as buffers and tread removal equipment.Ability to operate basic production machinery, conveyors, hoists, and pulley systems after training.Capacity to handle and maneuver large semi-truck tires safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.Ability to stand on your feet for the entirety of the shift.Physical ability to frequently push, pull, bend, and stoop as required by the job.Willingness and availability to work regular hours from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.Flexibility to work overtime, including staying until 1:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. when needed and working some Saturdays with advance notice.Attention to detail to inspect tires and ensure quality standards are met.Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality in a production setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in general labor, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments is beneficial.Experience working with conveyor systems, hoists, or other material-handling equipment is an advantage.Familiarity with tire services, retreading, or automotive-related work is helpful but not required.Comfort working in a physically demanding role and in an environment that can be dirty and noisy.Willingness to learn new production processes and cross-train in multiple departments.Why Work Here?You will join a stable, nationwide tire services organization that offers the opportunity to grow within a large, established company.
