IT Financial Analyst

This is a 37.5 hour work week.

Contract Length: 6 Months Location: New York, NY or Jamaica, NY Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote; additional onsite days as needed)

Our organization is seeking an experienced IT Financial Analyst to support and manage financial reporting activities across a large and complex IT environment. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who can drive financial visibility, improve reporting processes, and help ensure accountability across business operations.

IT Financial Analyst Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, and enhance financial reporting used to communicate spending insights to leadership and stakeholders.
• Analyze financial data to improve visibility into budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and operational performance.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of financial reports and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Research and analyze accounting, procurement, and operational transactions across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify reporting improvements and support decision-making.
• Manage and reconcile financial activities including accruals, reversals, prepaids, capital expenditures (CapEx), and cost allocations.

IT Financial Analyst Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of financial operations, including:
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Accounting principles, including accruals, reversals, prepaids, and CapEx
  • Cost allocation methodologies
  • IT department financial management and operations
  • Contract management
  • Procurement processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Data modeling
  • Complex formulas
  • Pivot tables
  • Automation
  • Scenario analysis
• Experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
• Experience sourcing, mining, and analyzing data within PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP systems.
• Experience researching financial, accounting, and procurement transactions.
• Experience using ServiceNow for reporting and transaction analysis, including ITFM, CMDB, APM, and related modules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting large public-sector, transportation, infrastructure, or similarly complex organizations.
• Experience working with large-scale financial datasets and evolving reporting frameworks.
