Procurement/Sourcing Specialist III - CAPEX

Procurement/Sourcing Specialist III will manage strategic sourcing initiatives for capital expenditure categories at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and optimizing supplier relationships to achieve cost savings and supply chain efficiency across a global matrix organization.

Responsibilities

Connect project teams to spending plans, identify savings opportunities, and execute sourcing and RFx processes
Review spending patterns and develop consolidation strategies to leverage negotiated preferential contracts
Develop category-level sourcing strategies considering market positions, technology trends, and cost drivers
Execute cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels
Collaborate with engineers and site project teams on procurement project execution with 25-50% travel

Requirements

Advanced degree plus 3 years procurement experience, or bachelor's degree plus 5 years in mid-to-large multinational companies
Minimum 2 years CAPEX procurement experience in large matrixed company environment
Strong category management expertise and procurement project planning skills
Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPM desirable
Experience in regulated industries like life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems, spend analytics tools, and Microsoft Office suite including Power BI
Demonstrated negotiation and supplier relationship management capabilities
