Role Description This full-time, on-site position is located in Stony Brook, NY and is for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Pediatrics. The faculty member will provide clinical care to children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral conditions, including comprehensive evaluations, ongoing management, and coordination of multidisciplinary services. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; participating in curriculum development; and contributing to the academic mission through scholarly activities such as research, quality improvement, or educational innovation. The role involves collaboration with pediatric subspecialists, therapists, and community partners to support integrated care and advocacy for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. The faculty member is expected to engage in departmental meetings, committee service, and program development to enhance clinical services and training programs. Qualifications Medical degree (MD or DO), completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Pediatrics, and fellowship training in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (or equivalent specialized training). Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, with eligibility for New York State medical licensure. Demonstrated clinical expertise in evaluating and managing children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, and related behavioral or neurodevelopmental conditions. Strong teaching skills with experience or interest in educating medical students, residents, fellows, and interprofessional team members in academic or clinical settings. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, psychologists, educators, and community agencies, to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and participation in scholarly or research activities relevant to developmental and behavioral or neurodevelopmental pediatrics. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and providing culturally responsive care to diverse patient populations.
