The Opportunity YES Prep needs a dynamic bilingual Speech Language Pathology Assistant with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. To put it simply, you will play an integral role in providing dynamic speech and language services to eligible students, collecting progress data to support IEP development, and assisting with the administration of speech/language evaluations for Spanish-speaking students, under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist. The Role When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include: Providing superior direct and indirect services to students with a speech impairment to facilitate success in the least restrictive environment; Assisting in the planning and provision of individual speech therapy goals, objectives and therapeutic activities contained within the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), and follow documented treatment plans/protocols developed by the speech-language pathologist; Assisting with the administration of speech/language assessments for Spanish-speaking students if paired with a monolingual speech/language pathology supervisor; Consistently documenting student performance through record keeping (e.g. tallying data, documenting levels of performance within a service log); Compiling and maintaining therapy records and other required documents; Assisting with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling services; Collaborating with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve oral and written language skills of students; Supporting the speech-language pathologist in providing in-service trainings for special education staff and other personnel within the district; Attending staff development in-services and workshops to enhance professional skills; Additional duties as assigned. MUST HAVES

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution Valid or pending Texas license as a speech-language therapy assistant granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Bilingual fluency in Spanish (speak, understand, read, write) Excellent time management skills as evidenced through balancing documentation requirements with consistent provision of therapy services Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback Demonstrated ability to work on a team A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional Ability to work urgently in a fast‑paced and results‑oriented environment Ability to maintain emotional control under stress The Must Have Beliefs Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools Desire to disrupt systemic status quos in education Willingness to go above and beyond to disrupt said status quos Passion to develop resiliency through a relentless pursuit of jaw‑dropping results Conviction that high expectations + high accountability = high performance and high growth The Nice to Havens Successful completion of 25 observation and 25 clinical assisting hours Previous school-based experience as an SLPA The Perks Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience. Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
