Fall 2026 Digital Internship

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) is an independent, non-profit, campaign committee that elects and supports Democratic governors. It is currently seeking Digital interns for the Fall 2026 term. DGA internships give students practical political experience within the Digital Department, including candidate and governor research, drafting and monitoring social media content, tracking digital fundraising and creative analytics, and providing administrative support to DGA staff. Interns will work on projects across Digital, Political, Communications, and Administrative teams, reporting mainly to the Digital Associate and maintaining regular check‑ins with the Intern Coordinator. The internship is hybrid; interns in Washington, D.C. may use the office on a limited basis. Selected interns receive a stipend of $4,000. Housing is not provided. Typical Responsibilities Assist in research of digital content such as videos and photos of Democratic governors for use in social media and fundraising content. Assist in tracking and monitoring candidates running for Governor across all states. Assist in the maintenance and production of important tracking and analytic documents. Assist in drafting and producing social media and fundraising content for publication. Help with other special projects, assignments, and tasks as assigned by DGA Communications, Research, Political, Digital, and Administrative staff. Help compile and write newsletters and analytic reports. Help maintain the DGA's social and fundraising calendars, updating with key anniversaries and upcoming events. Stay up to date on social media and digital fundraising trends and best practices, flagging trending topics and memes. Attend multiple Digital team meetings as discussed with supervisors. Evening availability as necessary to post social content and contribute to rapid response moments for the Digital team. Minimum Qualifications/Expectations Excellent punctuality and attendance. Good professional verbal and written communication skills. Good and consistent attention to detail. Ability to cooperate and effectively communicate with a diverse staff and other interns. Ability to ask appropriate questions to gather information to complete tasks on time and meet expectations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency with web tools such as Google Docs. Strong knowledge of social media applications such as Instagram and Twitter. Strong commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party. Strong interest in current events and national/state/local campaigns and politics. Strong interest in digital work. For Fall terms, remote and/or hybrid availability for a minimum of 18 hours per week is preferred.
