Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) unit position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or related nursing experience and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• IMC Cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting — this is not a stepdown unit
• Cardiac and telemetry patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty
• SSN required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
