Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Technology Manager to support the technology systems and equipment across a high-volume quick-service restaurant operation. This role is responsible for maintaining restaurant technology infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting installations, and ensuring restaurant systems remain operational with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on technical experience within a QSR environment , with McDonald's Operations Technology Person (OTP) experience strongly preferred . Candidates holding OTP Pro/OTP3 certification will be highly valued.

This position is ideal for someone who understands both restaurant operations and technology and can quickly diagnose problems, support restaurant teams, and keep critical systems running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Technology & Systems

• Maintain and troubleshoot restaurant technology systems, including POS/register systems and related hardware and software.
• Support restaurant technology infrastructure to maximize system uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve technology issues quickly and efficiently.
• Assist with installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of restaurant technology equipment.
• Identify recurring technology issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of technology equipment, service issues, repairs, and replacements.
• Coordinate with external technology providers and support teams when issues require additional assistance.

Equipment Installation & Troubleshooting

• Support installation and setup of technology equipment during new restaurant openings, remodels, and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot hardware connectivity, software, network, and equipment-related issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize technology failures and operational disruptions.
• Ensure technology systems are properly configured and functioning according to operational requirements.
• Respond quickly to restaurant technology emergencies and minimize downtime.

Restaurant Operations Support

• Partner with General Managers and restaurant leadership to identify and resolve technology-related operational challenges.
• Train restaurant employees and managers on proper use of technology systems.
• Provide guidance on troubleshooting basic technology issues before escalating to outside support.
• Help restaurant teams understand technology procedures and best practices.
• Maintain strong communication with field operations regarding system performance and technology needs.

Project & Implementation Support

• Support technology rollouts, upgrades, and new system implementations.
• Assist with restaurant openings and technology readiness.
• Coordinate equipment installations and ensure systems are operational before opening.
• Support testing and validation of new hardware and software.
• Work with operations, vendors, and technology teams to ensure successful implementation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting restaurant technology, QSR systems, or related technical operations.
• Previous experience working within a high-volume QSR environment strongly preferred .
• McDonald's OTP experience strongly preferred.
• OTP Pro/OTP3 certification is a significant plus.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant POS and technology systems.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Understanding of restaurant technology infrastructure and equipment connectivity.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple technical issues.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to restaurant managers and hourly employees.
• Willingness to travel between restaurant locations as needed.

Ideal Candidate

You should be comfortable walking into a restaurant with a technology issue, quickly identifying the root cause, and working toward a solution that gets the operation back up and running.

Candidates with OTP Pro/OTP3 certification and strong McDonald's operational experience will be particularly attractive for this position.
